Reknowned 19th-century artist John James Audubon's watercolors of waterbirds including: Trumpeter Swan, Horned Puffin, Blue-winged Teal, Little Blue Heron, Great Egret, American White Pelican, Reddish Egret and the Greater Flamingo.  

Preparatory imagery for the book 'The Birds of America' (1827-38), the images were collected as part of the New-York Historical Society's original mandate was to collect natural history material.
