Ancient Egypt: Faces

Ancient Egypt: Faces

Nine of the infinite number of representations of ancient egyptian faces available to us today thanks to the high degree of preservation of Egyptian artifacts through the ages.  We explore the presence of mediterranean faces from northern Egypt, african (Nubian) faces from southern Egypt, youth and maturity, vigor and even physical defects, such as the genetically elongated skeleton of King Akhenaten.

Magnificent examples of sculpture in stone, bas relief work in stone, bronze, wood and frescoes are present on this cube, exploring three-dimensional, low-relief and two dimensional artisanship.

The storycard shows the full images in color, with historical information on each statue in six languages (English, Français, Português, Deutsche, Español and Italiano).

See the companion title Ancient Egypt: Animals and more on archeology.
